PONTIAC, Mich.–An ATM stolen from a credit union has come to a fitting end—in a cemetery.
According to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Department, the ATM was stolen from a closed office of Chief Financial Credit Union on Joselyn Ave. The machine had been emptied of cash and then dumped.
According to police, they were called to Perry Mount Park Cemetery at 5:45 a.m. with a report of an abandoned car. When they arrived, deputies found the car and an ATV that had been damaged, according to Fox 2 Detroit. Deputies said the machine had been opened and there were cash drawers lying in the grass, the report added.
The Buick Century recovered at the scene had been stolen, but had not yet been reported. Police said they are investigating.
