“State ECU is first and foremost a healthy and well-managed credit union. However, I’ve also been very impressed with the family culture. It’s very much in alignment with my values,” Ramos said in a statement. “Harold Dixon and the board have positioned the credit union for its next level of growth, and I’m very honored that I have been entrusted to help fulfill that vision. I plan to combine my experience with that of senior management to take State ECU to the next level, particularly through its commercial lines and membership growth."

According to the credit union, Ramos is a 28-year veteran in the industry, working in roles such as a marketing manager, branch manager and senior vice president.

Expanded Commercial Lending

Business First reported State Employees is planning to double down on its commercial lending operation, having broken ground on a 30,000-square-foot office building adjacent to its headquarters to house the expanded operations.

State Employees has approximately 150 full-time employees across seven branches, including having added 29 new employees within the last year. The credit union has more than 48,000 members.
