MANCHESTER, N.H. — St. Mary’s Bank, a long-time supporter of this city’s downtown The Palace Theatre, along with St. Mary’s Bank Charitable Foundation, have committed to a three-year, $180,000 commitment to become the Theatre’s new performing arts series sponsor.
According to St. Mary’s Bank, the nation’s first credit union, its initial gift of $30,000 made at the end of 2020 supports the Palace’s lineup of virtual shows that are now streaming as the theatre takes an intermission. The balance of St. Mary’s gift will be used for the reopening of its Professional Performing Arts Series.
“The Palace Theatre has been part of the Manchester community for over a century,” said Ron Covey, St. Mary’s Bank president and CEO. “They have a long legacy of meeting the cultural and entertainment needs of our city and creating a more vibrant community. We are pleased to have this opportunity to help sustain the mission of such a historic and community-focused institution.”
Added Peter Ramsey, president of the theater, “St. Mary’s Bank has been a generous Palace Theatre donor and advocate for many years. Their sponsorship enables us to continue producing entertainment and educational programs for patrons of all ages. We are very grateful to have St. Mary’s support at this critical time.”
