ST. HELENS, Ore.–St. Helens Community Credit Union here is changing its name. Effective Dec.10, the credit union will operate as InRoads Credit Union.
“While the people who work here, the credit union’s services, and commitment to you hasn’t changed, there will be some subtle shifts in the way your credit union inspires, invites, and offers you everything you need to be individual with your money and your financial future,” the credit union said in a statement on its website.
According to the $221-million St. Helens Community, the name change will be accompanied by a new website at inroadscu.org that will make clear all the CU has to offer to help members to grow. It will also be launching a new online banking app simultaneously with the name change, the credit union said.
“We know that we all thrive when we work together,” the credit union said. “It’s part of the credit union philosophy of people helping people. InRoads is taking that one step further. As your financial partner, your credit union will work hard to make your day easier and bring you more opportunities to engage and contribute to that community as well as your own financial well-being.”
In its FAQ, St. Helens said the name change follows a strategic planning session and research that found potential members living outside of St. Helens, Ore., were confused about their eligibility for membership based on the current name. SHCCU said more than 25 potential names were reviewed before InRoads was selected.
The credit union has approximately 16,184 members.
