ST. CLOUD, Minn.–St. Cloud FCU said it is partnering with St. Cloud Times Media for the inaugural Central Minnesota Prep Sports Award Program.
This program is being established to recognize and award leading area high school athletes representing 25 different sports through a multi-faceted campaign that concludes with a year-end Awards Ceremony.
According to the organizations involved, Central Minnesota Prep Sports Awards is Times Media’s way of recognizing and saying thank you to the thousands of outstanding high school athletes, coaches and fans in the community while spotlighting an outstanding sports community. St. Cloud Federal Credit Union felt it was a perfect fit for their mission which includes giving back to the community.
“This program is a terrific way to bring recognition to so many kids who work hard as strong students and great athletes,” stated Jed A. Meyer, president and CEO of the credit union. “We are excited to be a part of it!” stated Meyer.
After weekly recognition throughout the year, the program will conclude with an awards ceremony anticipated to attract approximately 900 students from 26 different schools in Central Minnesota. The ceremony will include the presentation of a Male Athlete of the Year, Female Athlete of the Year, Coach of the Year, Team of the Year, and Courage and Heart & Desire Awards.
Eric Decker, considered one of the greatest athletes from Central Minnesota, will be the keynote speaker for the June 17, 2016 event.
