Southwest Montana Community FCU Names New CEO to Succeed the Retiring Tom Dedman

ANACONDA, Mont.–Southwest Montana Community FCU has named a new president/CEO.

The $146.3-million SMCFCU has selected Teri Krakowka to lead the organization and succeed Tom Dedman, who is retiring from Southwest Montana Community FCY after 12 years of dedicated service.

Teri Krakowka

Krakowka started her career at the credit union working in general office support while still in high school, and continued during her breaks while a college student at Montana Tech, where she graduated in 2001. Since that time, she has served as the CFO.

She has also served as Rocky Mountain Chapter president and as a member of the Millennium Corporate Credit Union Supervisory Committee.

Krakowka is a 2017 graduate of Western CUNA Management School and was honored as a graduate assistant in 2018. The credit union said she has provided strategic insights to League Service Group as a board member, Fiserv as a member of their Enhancement Review Committee, and Open Solutions as the chairperson to their Software Review Committee.

‘Truly Excited’

“I am truly excited to have the opportunity to lead Southwest Montana Community Federal Credit Union. After 29 years, I have some great ideas for serving our members and community,” said Krakowka. “I am thankful to the Board for their confidence and support.”

A native of Anaconda, Krakowka is active in her community serving on the Anaconda Parent-Teacher Association and the Anaconda Chamber of Commerce, in both instances rising to the treasurer role.
