Southern Cal CUs, Groups Raised $139,000 For Hospital

ANAHEIM, Calif.–Eighteen Southern California credit unions and four credit union affiliate organizations participated in the 25th Annual CHOC Walk in the Park and helped to raise more than $139,000 for Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC Children’s).

This was the third year credit unions from Orange, Los Angeles, Riverside, and San Bernardino counties came together to walk and fundraise for CHOC as the “Credit Unions for CHOC Team.” In all more than 1,200 walkers from the various credit unions and affiliate organizations took part. Ontario, Calif.-based CU Direct was the team sponsor and provided light blue team T-shirts.

The teams together raised more than $130,000, with the additional $10,000 coming from Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.-based CO-OP Financial Services and its Miracle Match program. The top fundraising teams were Orange County’s Credit Union in Santa Ana with more than $31,000, Credit Union of Southern California in Anaheim Hills with more than $22,000, followed by Eagle Community Credit Union (Lake Forest), SchoolsFirst FCU (Santa Ana), and Financial Partners Credit Unions (Downey) all raising more than $10,000 as individual teams.

(San Diego).
