PIERRE, S.D.–Some credit union members in this state have begun affixing an “America’s Credit Unions” logo to their license plates.
In South Dakota, the motor vehicle division allows non-profit organizations to purchase organization decals that can be placed on license plates.
The Credit Union Association of the Dakotas reported that one of Aberdeen FCU’s members was the first person in South Dakota to recently get the new credit union license plates.
“We are proud to see our members sharing in the cooperative spirit and carrying out the “People Helping People” philosophy” stated Abby Kroupa, business development director at Aberdeen FCU, according to the CUAD.
The decals allow nonprofit organizations throughout South Dakota to raise additional funds. The state league had registered with the state motor vehicle division to sell the decals. The CUAD is it “suggests” a donation of $25 be made to the Credit Union Foundation of the Dakotas for a set of decals.
