Small Ohio CU Announces Plans to Merge

HILLIARD, Ohio–A tiny CU in the Buckeye State has mailed its last letter.

The $981,536 Trumbull County Postal Employees Credit Union is merging into the $193-million Credit Union of Ohio. 
In a statement, CU of Ohio said the 149 members of TCPECU, which was founded in 1932, will now have access to an expanded range of services, including mobile and online banking, checking accounts, debit cards and a new branch location within less than five miles of its current location.

In addition, members will have access to Credit Union of Ohio’s credit cards, home equity products and free financial coaching, the credit union added.

“Our members are extremely excited about having access to new banking solutions, checking accounts and mobile banking products that weren’t available before. Our TCPECU community is grateful to be joining forces with Credit Union of Ohio,” said TCPECU’s Manager Walter Nolan. 
Credit Union of Ohio has five physical locations in Ohio, including its branch in Niles, Ohio, which will serve the TCPECU membership.

On its mid-year call report, Trumbull County Postal Employees reported net income of $48 and total employee comp of $5,518. It had net worth of 14%.
