TROY, Mich.–A small Alabama Credit Union has announced plans to merge into a larger CU.
The $7.4-million Pike Teachers Credit Union, whose loan office is inside a local fire station, is asking members to vote in favor of merging into the $650-million Guardian Credit Union in Montgomery, Ala.
Pike Teaches was chartered in 1954 to serve teachers in its local market, but it has since expanded its field of membership. It has approximately 1,854 members.
