Skip A Payment, Help Kids In Need Get Shoes

RIVERDALE, Utah—America First Credit Union is inviting members to skip a payment during the holidays and in the process provide shoes to children in need.

This holiday season marks the 21st year of America First’s Skip a Loan Payment program, which offers members the opportunity to skip monthly loan payments from November 2015 – January 2016 for $25. America First is donating a portion of the fee to purchase shoes and “warm the soles” of children. Last year alone, America First helped to provide more than 1,200 pairs of shoes for children in need through the Skip a Loan Payment program and monetary donations from members.

“As we celebrate 21 years of giving through the ‘Warm the Soles of Kids’ project, it’s incredible to reflect on what our members have made possible for children in need,” said John B. Lund, CEO and president of America First. “Of all our charitable initiatives, this one is particularly special, as it makes things easier for our members during the holidays, raises funds for our charitable foundation and helps provide shoes for children who wouldn’t receive them otherwise.”

Monies from Skip a Loan Payment will also benefit America Firsts’ 501(c)3 volunteer service arm, the America First Credit Union Charitable Foundation.

Children from Brigham City, Utah to Las Vegas will receive new shoes for the holidays, as America First team members present the gift-wrapped shoes to children from 19 schools and service organizations at special holiday events throughout December.
