Skimming Device Found On CU’s ATM

MARSHFIELD, Wis.—A skimming device was found on the ATM of a branch of Simplicity Credit Union here.

The device was discovered after several people who used the ATM began reporting to police that money was taken from their accounts, the Marshfield News-Herald reported.

Authorities believe the skimming device, which was placed over the card reader, was installed around Thanksgiving. Police removed the skimmer and the camera used to capture PIN entries, the newspaper said.

The report did not state how much money was taken from people’s accounts.
