CANTON, Ohio–Nearly $17,000 was taken from member accounts at Canton School Employees FCU as the result of ATM skimming theft.
Police in Perry Township, Ohio have released photos of two men they have alleged connected to the theft. The funds were taken between June 1 and June 3.
Chief Mike Pomesky was quoted by InsideOnline.com as saying a skimmer had been placed in the card slot of the ATM, and card information was used in the Cleveland area.
No charges have been filed.
According to the report, members have been reimbursed. It’s not clear how many members were affected.
The $266-million Canton School Employees FCU has approximately 44,000 members.
