Several-Hundred Members’ Debit Cards are Compromised

MARLBOROUGH, Mass. – Several-hundred members of one credit union here have had their debit cards compromised. St. Mary’s Credit Union confirmed to local Boston25News.com that its members cards were affected and replacements were being issued.

The credit union told the news outlet it is investigating the cause of the card breach and had not yet determined what led to the event. According to the credit union's website, several branches were operating with extended hours last week in order to issue new debit cards to members whose cards have been affected.

As CUToday.info has reported, numerous credit unions this year have had to replace cards for members, in many cases due to skimmer devices capturing data on cards and then attempting to breach the accounts.

St. Mary’s Credit Union is separate from St. Mary’s Bank located in adjacent New Hampshire.
