WASHINGTON—The Senate has confirmed Alanna McCargo to serve as president of the Government National Mortgage Association (Ginnie Mae).
McCargo—senior advisor for housing finance at the Department of Housing and Urban Development—was nominated by President Joe Biden for the role in September.
She is the first permanent president of Ginnie Mae since 2017.
“We congratulate Ms. McCargo on her confirmation and look forward to engaging with her on credit unions’ role in ensuring housing access and affordability,” said CUNA President/CEO Jim Nussle.
