SAN ANTONIO—In what is the first time a credit union has ever topped the list, Security Service FCU reported it has taken the top spot in overall performance for 2015, according to the most recent Auto Finance Performance Report (AFP).
The AFP ranks dealer preferences about the finance providers they use.
Security Service reported it scored highest overall ― 9.18 on a 10-point scale, and also ranked first in service, pricing and the strength of its representatives by the more than 3,300 dealers surveyed to create the AFP. Lenders specifically called out the credit union for its communication, quick response, willingness to help and consistency.
“It’s an honor for our team to be recognized by the industry for our groundbreaking work in this area,” said Jim Laffoon, president and CEO for Security Service in a statement. “We are especially proud to be the first credit union to take the top spot in overall performance.”
Security Service has now grown its auto loan portfolio to more than $5.4 billion. “
Now in its third year, the AFP data collected by Auto Finance Advisors quantifies and ranks lenders on four broad categories that drive dealers’ decisions about financing: service, pricing, representatives and products.
