WASHINGTON–Labor Credit Union is reporting it has helped another member get into a new home as the result of its “Make First Time Home Buying a Reality” grant program, which it launched earlier this year.
That program provides members $12,500 towards the down payment and closing costs to purchase their first home. Labor CU said the initiative has led to two members now finalizing the purchase of their homes.
One Member’s Story
The latest grant recipient is “Stacy,” according to LCU.
“Since I joined Labor CU, I have been able to raise my credit score, purchase another car, and buy my first home! I wanted to purchase a home for many years, but this program allowed me to make my dream a reality,” Stacy said. “From the moment I found out I was one of the recipients, I was so excited. Thank you for this program, and for helping to change my life. Now I am finally a proud homeowner.”
As part of our pledge to improve the financial well-being of members, Labor CU said has worked to be “instrumental” in empowering members to reach their financial goals, reporting that over the past year it has provided $3.4 million in direct financial benefits to members while saving them more than $1.8 million via lower rates on loans.
