EDINBORO, Scotland–Marlene Shiels, well-known to many in the international credit union community, has been awarded the Order of the British Empire. Shiels, who is CEO of Capital Credit Union, was selected for her work in financial services and financial inclusion.
She will be presented with the medal that accompanies the honor by the queen of England later this year at Buckingham Palace.
