EDINBURGH, Scotland–Capital CreditUnion has won the top prize in a well-regarded United Kingdom-wide consumer awards program.
The credit was voted Best Credit Union (North) in the Consumer Credit Awards run by independent review group, Smart Money People. The awards are decided based on customer/member feedback.
“We are absolutely thrilled to win this award as this is not decided by a judging panel, but based entirely on the positive feedback from our members,” said CEO Marlene Shiels in a statement. “We always strive to meet their needs and to help them as best we can and our efforts, particularly during the pandemic, have been rewarded. We developed a COVID Wellbeing Package specifically to address issues they have been facing in the last 18 months and this has gone down very well with our members. We are very grateful to them for voting for us and for providing such positive feedback about us.”
Since the inception of the awards program in 2017 more than 100,000 people have helped to decide the winners in the various categories, according to Smart Money People.
Capital was also a finalist in this year’s Customer Service Champions category.
