GROTON, Conn.–The $230-million Scient Federal Credit Union has named David Purcell as its new president and CEO.
Purcell has more than 25 years of experience in the financial services industry, with half that in a senior management capacity, including most recently chief lending officer and chief operating officer at Scient FCU. He has led various areas through his career, including retail banking and lending, marketing, product management, electronic delivery and sales and branch operations.
“I’m indeed honored to be asked to serve as Scient’s next president and CEO,” Purcell said in a statement. “Scient has long exemplified the credit union mission, operating as an association of people coming together for a common purpose – namely to improve the quality of our members’ lives by providing tailored products and services to turn their financial dreams into realities.” Purcell added, “I am so proud of the Scient team, they have worked extremely hard to move our unique brand forward in better serving our members’ needs.”
