TUSTIN, Calif.–The city of Tustin has approved plans by SchoolsFirst FCU to build a new three-story headquarters building at the site of its existing operations center at Newport and Del Amo avenues. The credit union is currently headquartered in Santa Ana, Calif.
Construction is expected to begin in the Fall on the new building on 1.8 acres sold by the city adjacent to its Tustin campus. The expansion will grow to the campus to 19 acres.
In addition to the new headquarters, SchoolsFirst FCU also will build a 5,000-square-foot credit union branch and a 921-stall, four-level parking structure.
After construction is complete in late 2021, SchoolsFirst FCU will add roughly 750 employees to its current Tustin-based workforce, bringing the total to over 1,600 employees, the credit union said.
The $15.8-billion SchoolsFirst FCU has approximately 882,000 members.
