BENTONVILLE, Ark.—Growth of the self-checkout stations inside retail stores is providing crooks with even more avenues for card skimming.
Last month, thieves at Walmart stores in Virginia and Kentucky used skimmers in the self-checkout lines.
The thieves were able to steal about $20,000 from at least 38 victims, CBS News reported.
Skimmers at self-checkout stations have also been reported at Safeway stores in in California and Colorado, according to CBS.
