Save The Date: CUToday.info To Host ‘CU Tomorrow’ Conference In 2018

AUSTIN, Texas–CUToday.info asked, and America’s credit union community (really) responded. So save the dates: September 9-11, 2018, when CUToday.info will be hosting its first-ever CU Tomorrow Conference in Austin, Texas.

In July, CUToday.info’s Frank J. Diekmann asked mid-size and smaller credit unions that do not want a merger to be their only option about their interest in a moderately priced, compact conference dedicated solely to growth strategies, with sessions led by successful peer-group credit unions.

No golf tournament. No TED talks. No high-price, big name keynoters. Just old-fashioned collaboration, with credit unions helping credit unions to grow and better serve their members.

“When I first pitched the idea of such a conference, after sitting through a number of meetings where I didn’t feel credit unions’ real needs were being met, I had no idea how strong the response would be,” said Diekmann. “But the feedback was overwhelming from credit union CEOs, managers and senior execs. Speakers sharing 20,000-foot views are entertaining, but what’s far more critical to the future of credit unions is addressing the challenges of those who are on the ground in their offices every day, working to remain viable and relevant to their members. That’s what the CUTomorrow Conference will be all about.”

Based on extensive feedback from the CUToday.info audience, the conference agenda will be built around:

  • New membership growth/effective onboarding (especially in a mobile market)
  • Building walletshare among current members
  • Employee onboarding/training/culture
  • Lending/sales
  • Non-interest income
  • Efficiencies/vendor management/cost management

CUToday.info will be releasing additional details about the meeting over the coming month, but for now is releasing the dates so interested credit unions can budget for the meeting and put it on their calendars.

Diekmann said the registration will be under $500, and that Austin was selected because it’s in the center of the country and served by Southwest Airlines, which should keep a cap on airfares.
