SAN DIEGO–San Diego Metropolitan Credit Union has changed its name. The $284-million CU is now Wheelhouse Credit Union, and with the new name comes a new graphic identity, logo and website.
“We are inspired by our desire to embrace a new and energized future for our credit union and members, while honoring our City of San Diego legacy,” said CEO Lisa Paul-Hill. “Our passion for people, the community and the environment will continue with a focus on eco-friendly and sustainability issues as well as community partnerships. Providing the best experience and financial services for our employees and members is in our wheelhouse; caring about the environment and sustainability is in everyone’s wheelhouse. The name change allows us to emphasize our broader mission.”
Paul-Hill, emphasizing the name change is not the result of a merger, said it will also offer a broader range of products and services and technology enhancements.
Wheelhouse Credit Union announced it is also partnering with the San Diego Seals, the National Lacrosse League expansion team. The Seals first inaugural season home game is on Jan. 12, 2019.
Wheelhouse Credit Union serves more than 20,000 members.
