SAN ANTONIO—SWBC Mortgage Corporation is reporting expansion of its presence on the west coast with a number of new hires and a fulfillment center.
The company hired John Brumund to lead the effort as senior vice president of the western division. In this role, Brumund will be responsible for expanding SWBC Mortgage by hiring highly qualified production and operational personnel while building production channels using revolutionary technology combined with strategic targeted marketing efforts, according to SWBC.
Brumund will also oversee SWBC’s West Coast fulfillment center in Orange County, Calif. Brumund brings more than 20 years of national production, channel, division, and technology management experience in the mortgage industry. Prior to joining SWBC, Brumund was vice president of strategic opportunities at Pacific Union Financial, LLC.
SWBC said the fulfillment center will cover all operational functions for the West Coast expansion from processing through funding. In addition, the center will house several production-oriented personnel, including regional managers, sales managers, and loan officers. SWBC said it is committed to this expansion initiative and realizes the importance of having a West Coast operational presence. SWBC added that the West Coast expansion is a key component of SWBC Mortgage’s growth initiative, which also includes plans to grow in other areas across the United States.

In addition to Brumund, SWBC Mortgage has also hired Scott Mauney as Vice President of Western Division Operations and Elizabeth Sumi as Vice President of Business Development – Western Division. Mauney will oversee the day-to-day operations in the fulfillment center including underwriting, documents, and funding. Sumi will be responsible for helping SWBC Mortgage expand production in the Western Division.
