CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas–STAR Credit Union here has named a new president/CEO.
Effective Jan. 14, Lester Warby will lead the organization, according to Credit Union Resources, which led the search.
Warby comes to the $50-million STAR CU from Baltimore Washington Federal Credit Union in Glen Burnie, Md., where he served as chief executive officer. He was responsible for increasing net worth, membership, and lending, as well as creating growth. Warby grew the credit union from $8.749 million to more than $10 million within his first 12 months, according to CU Resources.
Prior to working at Baltimore Washington FCU, Warby was the CEO at Wolf Point Federal Credit Union in Wolf Point, Mont., where he oversaw operations, lending, finance, information technology, marketing, business development, and administration within all areas of the credit union.
Warby has been active in the community and volunteers on many committees and boards, such as the CUNA Technology Council, Northern Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce, Wolf Point Area Museum, and CUBE Users Group.
