SPIRE CU Partners On New ‘NetGiver’ Donation App

FALCON HEIGHTS, Minn.–SPIRE Credit Union here has partnered with Minneapolis-based venture studio DNT BLNK on a new app called “NetGiver” that allows members to donate directly to nonprofit organizations directly from their checking or savings accounts.

The solution, which the company said eliminates all the credit card fees and administrative costs of other donation platforms, is also available to other credit unions.

In a statement, DNT BLNK credited SPIRE CEO Dan Stolz with the “inspiration” for the new app.

‘About Giving, Not Getting’

“To me, life is about giving, not getting,” says Stolz. “At SPIRE, our core value is ‘We Care.’ We also have a core action that is we ‘give Back,’ and in order to live this action we strive to be net-givers by investing in the local communities we serve.”

DNT BLNK said its mission is to create strategic innovations that matter, and following collaboration with other, the NetGiver application was created.

According to the company, the NetGiver app provides a feel-good experience for credit union members, with not only the simplicity of donating to their chosen nonprofit directly from their credit union account, but also the satisfaction of knowing every penny of their donation goes directly to the nonprofit organization.” DNT BLNK said the app is also a member acquisition and retention tool.

With this new touchpoint for credit unions, NetGiver is designed as a unique acquisition and retention tool for new members and additional deposit accounts.
