Robbery At CU Leaves Alleged Robber Dead

WEST JORDAN, Utah—A robbery at a branch of Mountain America CU here ended in the fatal shooting of the alleged thief.

KSL.com reported that an armed robber entered the Mountain America office at 6761 S. Redwood Road, demanded money and then fled in a pickup truck with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police soon spotted the truck and chased the alleged thief for ten minutes, before the driver crashed into a wall. He then fled on foot and shots were fired, KSL.com reported.

Police told the news station they had no information about what prompted the shooting, how many officers were involved or whether the shooting victim used a weapon in the confrontation. Police also couldn't say whether the shooting victim used a weapon on himself.

The shooting victim was taken to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries. Neither the male's name or age were immediately released.
