KANSAS CITY, Kan.–A man whose robbery of a credit union here was given away by Susan B. Anthony coins has been sentenced.
Steven McCrary, who had 12 prior convictions, has been sentenced in U.S. District Court in Kansas City to 11 years in federal prison for the 2016 robbery of a branch of Community America Credit Union.
As CUToday.info earlier reported here, McCrary was arrested shortly after the robbery after police recovered $3,815 in stolen money, including something that was a dead giveaway: 68 commemorative Susan B. Anthony coins.
McCrary, who pleaded guilty, was on parole at the time of the robbery for another credit union hold-up.
