CHESTERFIELD, Mich.—It didn’t take long for police to find a suspected robber of a branch of Genisys Credit Union.
The suspect, Peter Joshua Labruck, 44, was nabbed by Chesterfield Township police after driving away from the scene in a vehicle with dealer tags. The Macomb Daily quoted police as saying, “We made the assumption it could be a test-drive car.”
Seeking a Ford Fusion, police contacted Milne Ford, which confirmed that a Fusion had been taken for a test ride at the approximate time of the robbery. Labruck was still in the dealership when police arrived moments later. The amount taken was less than $2,000; bond has been set at $500,000. Police said Labruck had been paroled from prison less than six weeks earlier after being convicted of an armed robbery in 2008.
