CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.—A thief allegedly robbed an office of Southeast FCU here by threating staff with a bomb.
Authorities reported that a man entered the CU located on National Avenue, demanded money and fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash, leaving behind a suspicious package.
The suspect reportedly told employees that a bomb was inside the package, WRCBtv.com said.
The news station reported that sometime following the robbery a loud blast was heard coming from near the credit union. Police later confirmed the blast was a result of the bomb squad successfully detonating the suspicious package, WRCB
No one was injured during the robbery or form the blast.
