PLANO, Texas–Registration for the 39th annual Economic Forum hosted by Catalyst Corporate is now open. The event will be held Oct. 3-5 at the Omni Mandalay Hotel in Las Colinas, Texas.
Recently added to the lineup of speakers were Adam Davidson, host of National Public Radio’s Planet Money, and Evan Koenig, senior vice president and chief policy advisor of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas.
Davidson is co-founder and co-host of Planet Money, a co-production of NPR and This American Life. His work has earned many major broadcast journalism awards. Planet Money helps listeners understand how dramatic economic change is impacting their lives. Planet Money also proves that substantive, intelligent economic reporting can be funny, engaging and accessible to the non-expert.
Davidson’s award-winning documentary on the housing crisis, “The Giant Pool of Money,” which he co-reported and produced with Alex Blumberg, was named one of the top 10 works of journalism of the decade by New York University's Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute. It was probably the first hour-long radio documentary on mortgage finance ever to be described by multiple media sources as “riveting.”
In addition to Koenig’s presentation, An Outlook on the National Economy, and Davidson's presentation, Share Economy – The New Direction, other presentations include:
- Randy Harrington – Big Dilemma: Accessibility vs. Security
- Ray Perryman – Energy: Will the Economy Have Enough?
- Bill Hampel – Positioning Credit Unions for the New Economy
- Jack Uldrich – The Numbers That Matter
- Marci Rossell – Now What Do We Do?
Catalyst Corporate said the Economic Forum also features a day-long, deep dive of balance sheet strategies and insights provided by experts with Catalyst Corporate and Catalyst Strategic Solutions.
