WASHINGTON–The National Credit Union Foundation is urging those interested to register for its upcoming workshop and also reminding the deadline for Herb Wegner Award nominations is approaching.
Registration is open for the Foundation's Workshop 2023, an “immersive learning event” taking place in El Paso, Texas, Oct. 10-13.
“The event will explore how credit unions are uniquely positioned to serve their Hispanic communities in new and stronger ways to achieve growth,” the Foundation said.
To register, go here.
The Foundation added that development education (DE) and non-DE credit union leaders are welcome to register for the event, with scholarships available to DE Program graduates.
Deadline Approaching
In addition, the NCUF is reminding that the deadline for nominations for the highest honor in U.S. credit unions, the Herb Wegner Memorial Awards, is this week.
Credit unions have until July 28 to make their nominations in two categories:
- Outstanding Individual Achievement, honoring an individual dedicated to promoting the credit union philosophy, whose leadership has had a lasting impact on the credit union movement.
- Outstanding Organization or Program, honoring innovative institutions or initiatives that have measurably improved the local, national, or international system.
To make a nomination, complete and return the Herb Wegner Memorial Award Nomination Packet with a minimum of five supportive references by Friday at 6 p.m. ET.
