Pronouncing Department of Labor FCU’s New Name Now Requires a Little Less Work

WASHINGTON–Department of Labor Federal Credit Union (DOLFCU) has announced a name change and rebranding. It is now Labor Credit Union.

The $114-million credit union made the announcement during its annual meeting.

“For over eight decades, DOLFCU has served those who drive, support, and care for the labor movement,” the credit union said. “Although the U.S. Department of Labor (USDOL) is the credit union’s primary sponsor and will continue to be, the board and leadership team recognized that many groups, associations, and partnerships beyond USDOL have similar missions. The new brand name, updated logo and new visual identity are focused on being more inclusive of everyone that serves and supports the labor movement.

‘Excited to Move Forward’

“We’re excited to move forward as Labor Credit Union,” said Thomas Domingue, CEO of the new Labor Credit Union. “We were organized by working people, for working people to help them build a foundation of financial strength. The new brand reflects our dedication to continue that movement by serving the entire labor industry – whose members also work tirelessly to make a difference in the lives of many.”

The CU noted its two branches will remain operating as usual and that it is in the planning stages of expanding and opening additional locations to further enhance convenience for its members.

Labor CU has approximately 7,600 members.
