‘Pricing Week’ Series Offers Insights, Strategies On How To Prepare For Fed Rate Increase

CHICAGO–There is a growing consensus the Federal Reserve will move to increase short-term rates before year-end. In response, and in follow up to reader feedback, CUToday.info is launching “Pricing Week,” a series of stories featuring the viewpoints of analysts, CFOs, CEOs and others on how credit unions should prepare for any increase in rates.

Having operated in a near 0% environment for more than a half-decade, any increase in rates will have an effect on both sides of the balance sheet.

Credit unions are being prepared now to watch for deposit outflows, to consider various new product pricing scenarios, and to learn lessons offered by previous Fed rate increases.

CUToday.info will be featuring coverage as part of “Pricing Week” in The Feature section, beginning here.

And here’s something to look forward to: response from various sources to Pricing Week has been so strong that Pricing Week may become two weeks. Watch for coverage on CUToday.info.
