Prairie FCU Names New CEO

Mindee Kohlman

MINOT, N.D.–Prairie Federal Credit Union has named a new CEO.

Taking over the top post will be Mindee Kohlman, who has 28 years of experience with the credit union, beginning in 1988 when she was hired as a bookkeeper. Since then, she has been promoted to operations manager, and VP of operations.

The $118-million CU has 8,300 members.

Prior to her work at Prairie Federal CU, Kohlman worked for Town & Country Credit Union in Minot for 5.5 years, starting as a junior in high school as a part-time teller, and moving into accounting soon after.

“I am looking forward to the challenge and the opportunities of leading Prairie Federal Credit Union into the future,” said Kohlman in a statement.  “I feel fortunate to continue to work with such a great staff, and I know we will continue to be successful during this transition,” she added.

Kohlman is a CUNA Certified Credit Union Compliance Expert (CUCE) and was awarded the Professional of the Year title in 1997 by the North Dakota Credit Union League, where she served as chair of the Family Involvement Team.  She served on the Midwest Corporate Federal Credit Union’s board of directors for 12 years, from 1998 to 2010, where she held positions on the ALCO committee and the supervisory committee.

Kohlman will take over for resigning CEO Steve Tonneson
