PORTLAND, Ore.–More than a dozen credit unions and related organizations will again be hosting a job fair here today.
This is the second year the Portland-Metro Credit Union Career Fair has been sponsored by area credit unions looking for professionals who work in or are interested in the financial services industry. The credit union organizations said they are “excited to share their organizational cultures and values with prospective job seekers.” Entrance into the career fair is free.
Food and beverages, sponsored by OnPoint Community Credit Union, will be provided from 11:30 a.m.-1:30p.m. while supplies last, while music from Radioactive Entertainment will be sponsored by Rivermark Community Credit Union and Golson Scruggs). Each CU has also provided one prize package giveaway.
The event is being held at the headquarters of Unitus Credit Union.
Job-seekers will be able to fill out a passport onsite to be eligible to win one of 10 gift baskets that will be raffled out to 10 Career Fair job seekers who visit each credit union and affiliate table. Participants must collect sign-offs from all 10 tables to be considered for the raffle.
Participants are being asked to bring a digital or print copy of their ticket to the career fair to receive a wristband for food and beverages, along with business cards and copies of résumés and cover letters.
The credit unions involved reported they expect to see double the 70 people who turned out last year at this year’s event.
