Porcine Helping People: CU Leaders, Others Again Line Up to Kiss a Pig & Raise Funds

PHILADELPHIA–TruMark Financial Credit Union has once again raised funds for financial education initiatives by having three of its executives kiss a pig.

The event marked the 12th annual Kiss A Pig fundraiser. Participants pledged to raise money for the privilege of kissing the “lovable pig,” Ruby from Ross Mill Farms, TruMark Financial said.

In all, some $13,000 was raised.

The Recipients

Recipients of the grants include Baldi Middle School, George Washington High School, Maritime Academy Charter School, Our Lady of Calvary School, and St. Jerome School. In addition, the $3.06-billion credit union said Asociación Puertorriqueños en Marcha (APM) will also receive a grant to further its financial education initiatives.

TruMark Financial said Joe Becker, Jim Finucane, and Mark Schmidt from TruMark Financial “went above and beyond in their fundraising efforts.”

Other sponsors included Freedom Mortgage, Kershner Office Furniture, State National, and PSCU.

The event was emceed by Marc Farzetta, the host of "Farzetta in the Morning" on 97.5 The Fanatic. Farzetta's infectious energy and engaging presence added excitement and entertainment to the festivities.
