Poll Finds Branches Remain Popular Destinations

NEW YORK–Americans continue to like their financial institution branches, even if they are using remote services in increasing numbers.

A new survey from Bankrate has found that 45% of people in the U.S. visited a bank or credit union branch in the 30 days prior to the survey, which was based on calls to 1,000 people across the U.S. during December. About 26% of those surveyed had visited a branch in the week prior to being contacted.

Bankrate said it found that the use of bank branches was similar across generations, with 41% of Millennials and 48% of Baby Boomers visiting a branch in the previous 30 days.
