HUNT VALLEY, Md.–Point Breeze Credit Union has named a new CEO.
The credit union said Tonia Niedzialkowski, who is currently president, will add the CEO title effective Jan. 31, succeeding Bernie McLaughlin, who has led the credit union for the past nine years as part of a 42-year career in financial services.
Niedzialkowski joined Point Breeze in 1994 and is currently president.
“Her promotion to CEO is part of a planned transition of leadership that has been in place for the past several years,” the credit union said.
Niedzialkowski has also served as executive vice president and chief operating officer, senior vice president/chief financial officer and chief of information technology.
The $921-million Point Breeze has approximately 61,000 members. Its assets have grown 18% since 2019 while membership has increased almost 5%.
"We are thrilled to have Tonia continue to expand her role in leading this organization as CEO,” Point Breeze Chairman Don Gundlach. "Her transformational leadership has set our organization on a path for continued success."
In a statement, Gundlach credited Niedzialkowski with playing a big role in Point Breeze's recent growth in new members and its consumer and business loan activity.

“She recently guided Point Breeze’s expansion into two new markets with the construction of new offices in Westminster and Owings Mills. She also helped oversee the expansion and renovation of the credit union’s Hunt Valley headquarters, which doubled the size of its current facility at 11104 McCormick Road,” the credit union said.
In addition to her leadership at Point Breeze, Niedzialkowski is also active in various business and trade organizations. She currently serves on the board of directors for the Hunt Valley Business Forum and the advocacy committee for the Maryland D.C. Credit Union Association.
