Piedmont Advantage Members Approve Merger With Truliant

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.— Members of the $382.5-million Piedmont Advantage Credit Union have approved its merger into the $5.4-billion Truliant Federal Credit Union, clearing the final major hurdle for the combination, the CUs stated.

The vote was finalized during an Aug. 25 special meeting after regulators approved the transaction in June.

The credit unions will legally combine Sept. 1 under the Truliant name and federal charter, with Truliant President and CEO Todd Hall leading the approximately $6-billion organization. Piedmont Advantage will temporarily operate as a Truliant division while the institutions complete their operational and systems integration, expected by the end of the first quarter of 2027.

“We are excited to welcome Piedmont Advantage members to Truliant and to build on the trust they have placed in this partnership,” Hall said.

The combined credit union will serve more than 355,000 members through more than 40 locations across North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia.
