MENLO PARK, Calif.—Facebook-owned Instagram has started testing a payment feature within the app. This feature is currently limited to certain users.
The feature allows Instagram users to add a credit or debit card with their profile and set up a security pin. They can make purchases within the photo-sharing service and make payments without having to leave the site.
Instagram has started partnering with brands and services, the first being a dinner reservation app called Resy. Users will be able to book tables through the app and make payments for it directly from Instagram.
The payment feature is currently visible to select user across U.S. and U.K.
