Person Behind 2nd-Most Watched TED Talk Ever to Give a GAC Talk

WASHINGTON–CUNA has announced that Amy Cuddy will be among the speakers at its 2022 Governmental Affairs Conference (GAC).

Amy Cuddy

In her keynote address, Cuddy will outline simple techniques to help attendees harness the power of presence and perform with confidence, even under stressful situations, according to CUNA.

“Amy Cuddy is an engaging speaker who has influenced and empowered others to perform at their very best, especially during challenging situations,” said CUNA Chief Products and Services Officer Todd Spiczenski. “We are thrilled to have her as a keynoter. Our credit union leaders will benefit from her groundbreaking research.”

CUNA said Cuddy’s research has found that “presence is the state where we modify how we see ourselves rather than thinking of the impressions we make on others.”

Cuddy’s TED Talk, “Your Body Language May Shape Who You Are,” is the second most-viewed TED talk of all time. Named by The Guardian as “One of 20 Online Talks that Could Change Your Life,” Cuddy’s TED talk influenced how building confidence under stressful situations is taught and practiced worldwide.

PhD From Princeton

Cuddy earned her PhD from Princeton University in 2005, was a professor at Harvard Business School from 2008-2017, at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management from 2006-2008, and Rutgers University from 2005-2006. She continues to teach at Harvard Business School in their executive education programs.

The keynote speech will take place Tuesday, March 1, 2022, on the CUNA GAC mainstage.
