MADISON, Wis.–A number of credit union employees and others with CU affiliations are among those elected to office in the early November elections.
According to CUNA and various leagues:
- Beth Gilbert, an employee at Wilkes-Barre (Pa.) City Employees FCU, was elected to the Wilkes-Barres City Council.
- Bob Lucas, board member of Mercer County Community FCU, Hermitage, Pa., was elected to the Sharon (Pa.) City Council. Lucas also has served as the mayor of Sharon.
- Rory Rowland, a former credit union CEO who is now in consulting and who is a frequent speaker to credit unions, was elected to the Missouri General Assembly in a special election. Rory Rowland (D) will represent House District 29. He is the former president/CEO of City CU, Independence, Mo., and Raytown-Lee’s Summit Community CU, Raytown, Mo.
