People With CU Ties Elected To Office

MADISON, Wis.–A number of credit union employees and others with CU affiliations are among those elected to office in the early November elections.

According to CUNA and various leagues:

  • Beth Gilbert, an employee at Wilkes-Barre (Pa.) City Employees FCU, was elected to the Wilkes-Barres City Council.
  • Bob Lucas, board member of Mercer County Community FCU, Hermitage, Pa., was elected to the Sharon (Pa.) City Council. Lucas also has served as the mayor of Sharon.
  • Rory Rowland, a former credit union CEO who is now in consulting and who is a frequent speaker to credit unions, was elected to the Missouri General Assembly in a special election. Rory Rowland (D) will represent House District 29. He is the former president/CEO of City CU, Independence, Mo., and Raytown-Lee’s Summit Community CU, Raytown, Mo.
