SAN ANTONIO—Pentagon FCU has begun looking to hire more than 500 people here as it prepares to open a 146,000-square-foot service center.
PenFed told Fox San Antonio that it has filled a few-dozen positions to date, but is now looking to hire ambassadors, marketers, IT professionals, mortgage experts and member service representatives.
The credit union is launching the hiring effort in one of the tightest labor market in decades, with numerous credit unions indicating at recent meetings that finding talent is their number-one challenge.
"San Antonio is a very special place in America," said PenFed President and CEO James Schenck in a statement. "It's got world class professionals from all backgrounds, a very diverse, highly educated population, and we feel we're going to be able to get some terrific employees that want to become part of the PenFed family from this community."
