Penn. CU Assn. Introduces ID Protection Product

HARRISBURG Penn.––Pennsylvania Credit Union Association  has introduced Sherpa Identity Protection, which it said delivers state-of-art technology for identity theft protection and restoration services.

Working with the leading provider of identity protection and fraud detection services, the PCUA said the Sherpa product equips members with the tools they need to protect their personal information.  Should someone’s identity be compromised, the PCUA said they will have access to Sherpa’s certified identity theft restoration specialists.

“Credit unions are members’ most trusted source for financial information,” said Association Patrick Conway, president and CEO.  “With Sherpa, credit unions will be in a position to help their members proactively protect their identity and help them recover from any financial damage in the event of a data breach or identity theft.”

The Sherpa monitoring and reporting services product offers three levels of protection.  Members can choose between Base, Summit, or Peak.  Regardless of the level selected, Sherpa includes credit score monitoring, Internet surveillance monitoring, Social Security trace, full-service identity restoration, lost wallet protection, and up to $100 million in identity theft insurance with $0 deductible.

Service 1st FCU, Danville, Penn., has become the first to sign a contract to offer the product.
