Penguins Vs. Predators: Two State Associations Place Wager

HARRISBURG, Penn.–A wager on the Stanley Cup finals between the Nashville Predators and Pittsburgh Penguins has been placed by the leaders of the CU associations in the respective states.

Pennsylvania Credit Union Association President and CEO Patrick Conway and Tennessee Credit Union League President and CEO Fred Robinson have agreed that whoever loses the wager will send food and drink representing their hometown to the winning association or league staff to enjoy.

In addition, the losing team’s association/league CEO will be required to wear the winning team’s jersey for one day with photos being posted to social media.

“We, in Pennsylvania, are very proud of our rich sports history, both in Pittsburgh and Philadelphia,” Conway said. “The Penguins have put together a magical season and post-season that we know will culminate in the Stanley Cup returning to Pittsburgh.”

“Football has always been king in Tennessee,” Robinson added, “but this year it is being replaced by hockey.  Nashville and the whole state of Tennessee are excited about the unlikely run of the Predators to the Stanley Cup Finals.  We are looking forward to the Predators bringing the Stanley Cup to Smashville for the first time.”

The Penguins won the first game in the seven-game series.
