TYSONS, Va.– During designated senior shopping hours in three Safeway locations in the Greater Washington area, PenFed employees surprised shoppers at the register with $100 Visa gift cards, cloth face coverings and hand sanitizer.
Overall, PenFed said it is donating $50,000 to senior citizens and other vulnerable shoppers to help cover their grocery expenses during the pandemic.
Shoppers in Silver Spring, Md., Southeast Washington, D.C. and Alexandria, Va. during the designated senior shopping hours of 7 to 9 a.m. were greeted by the PenFed employees and presented with the gifts. Video of the delighted shoppers can be found here.
Joining PenFed in distributing the gift cards were the hosts of The Tommy Show, Tommy McFly and Kelly Collis.
