ARVADA, Colo.–Partner Colorado Credit Union said it will host a free educational webinar, Cannabis Banking Q&A, on July 13, 2017, 10 a.m.-noon MDT, focused on banking challenges and solutions for the legal cannabis industry. The webinar will discuss the services offered by its Safe Harbor Private Banking Division.
According to the credit union, Safe Harbor Private Banking offers a fully compliant banking program to cannabis businesses who previously found it difficult to open checking and savings accounts in federally insured financial institutions. The result was a law-abiding industry forced to pay its bills in cash creating risk and a community safety issue. Praised by regulators, industry leaders and legislators, including Congressman Ed Perlmutter as a “pioneering banking program for the marijuana industry,” Safe Harbor has deposited, validated, reported and monitored over $1 billion from Colorado’s cannabis industry, the credit union said.
