PAINESVILLE, Ohio–Painesville Credit Union here has celebrated its 80th birthday by performing 80 acts of kindness within its communities.
The CU was started in 1942 by seven City of Painesville employees in the city garage.
“We wanted to celebrate in a way that gives back to the community, we know our community is the reason we have had a successful 80 years” said CEO Lori Guzzi.
Among the beneficiaries and acts of kindness:
- The purchase of 80 boxes of Girl Scout Cookies given to city employees on job sites
- The donation of funds from candy sale to Imagination Library Project organized by Lifeline
- A member appreciation day was held with food, prizes and a shred truck
- Business attire was donated to Suit Yourself, an organization that helps women get back into the job market
- A staff Easter Egg Hunt was held
- PCU sponsored Family Feud for the Eastern Lake County Chamber
- 80 trees were given away honor of Earth Day
- Staff volunteered at St. James Church helping prepare and serve food to the homeless
- The CU was a Special Olympics sponsor at a local basketball game
- PCU provided the local fire/police lunch

“It has been a great year for the staff and board at Painesville Credit Union to perform 80 Acts of Kindness as a thank you for the community support of Painesville Credit Union” said Guzzi.
